• If you don't mind the KM Editor being open, you might be able to use this to view variables supplied when your write to a file macros run.

• This looks promising, and you wouldn't need to use any polling to get the results, as your current macros could update the prompt. I've messaged @avialan to ask if he'd be willing to share the code he used for it.

Hey Peter, Thanks, I’m not surprised. As this project has evolved, polling is less a concern - my AppleScript daemon is happily chugging away. I wonder how one would actually measure it's drag on the system. I’ll presume your clipboard trigger is from an OS notification? My bigger issue is the restricted communication to the floating window, and getting obscured by Quicklook, as mentioned.
