Ableton: Want to open and save all files to new different location

but got stuck on step 3 as I can't see how to select the folder I want for Ableton to save the project into

Assuming your Macro is replicating what you would do in the App (and it seems it is from your list of steps) you can set the path to a folder in an Open Dialog by making use of the Mac's inbuilt shortcut ⇧⌘G

When you are in any Open or Save dialog in an App, pressing ⇧⌘G brings up another dialog that allows you to enter the path to the folder you want.

Have KM send Shift-Command-G, then you can just insert text (or a variable) by typing or pasting. Here's how it looks in my MacroBackerUpper macro: Group.kmactions (6.2 KB) [Keyboard Maestro Export] That's not a full macro, of course, but it shows how it fills in a filename in the Save dialog, then brings up the path prompt, fills it in, and makes sure it's gone before proceeding. -rob.

Or (and this is what I do) you can use an excellent Keyboard Maestro plugin made by @noisneil which reduces all the steps to one Keyboard Maestro Action.

Navigate to Path in Dialog

I wanted to learn how to create a plugin, so here's my first simple offering: Navigate_to_Path_In_Dialog.zip (6.0 KB) [image] This will navigate to the specified path when in macOS file dialogs. Installation: Drop the .zip archive on the Keyboard Maestro application dock icon. To uninstall, remove the plugin folder from ~/Library/Application Support/Keyboard Maestro/Keyboard Maestro Actions. To update, remove the plugin folder and then re-install.
