Access menu item in DEVONthink

I am using Keyboard Maestro to access the To Group… menu item in the Go menu in DEVONthink. I can select the menu item using KM, then type the name of the group I want to go to, then type Tab to select what I have typed in the list of selections, then type Return to action it. However it often does not action and I cannot work out why. I have added 3 second pauses between each action. When I do these exact same actions outside of KM it works. Any help appreciated.

Further testing has revealed:

  • I don’t have to type Tab to select what I have typed from the selection (though this is irrelevant to the problem I was experiencing)
  • If I substitute Enter for Return in the macro it works.

If I perform the actions in DT outside of KM, either the Return or Enter key works. But when macroised in KM, Return doesn’t work and Enter does.

Is this a known behavioural ‘feature’ that I should bear in mind or something odd or different for further investigation? It suggests to me that KM’s use of the Type a Keystroke action does not operate the same way for the Return key as the Return key works in the wild.
