Activate the App That Is Playing a Sound? (Looking for a Way to Use App Audio Output as a Trigger)

I have setup an audio notification on firefox. I want to bring it to front as soon as firefox plays the audio.

Would appreciate your help trying to do that.

You might ask the Rogue Amoeba Software people.

They're about as expert as it gets on Mac audio.

Has anybody been able to find a solution to this problem in the meantime, i.e. using the fact that some app starts playing audio as a trigger?

(None of the fine Rogue Amoeba apps directly supports this use case at this time. The trick involving Audio Hijack suggested by @Sleepy on this forum still ought to work, but a more straightforward way would be nice.)
