Add favorite apps to Applications Palette?

I've never really used the Applications Palette until recently and I'm really liking it but I would love if it could essentially replace my dock entirely. Is there a way for me to add inactive applications to the palette in addition to the ones that are running?

I don't think so. But you can set up your own palette. Or you can use these actions.
