"Apply Style to Clipboard" not retaining original font formatting in terms of bold/italic/etc

I am trying to make a macro that will remove highlight and change font color of the texts copied to clipboard, but retain the format of the original text otherwise (i.e. bold words stay bold, italic words stay italic, etc).

When I use the action "Apply Style to _________ Clipboard" then paste from the specified clipboard, I notice that the pasted texts no longer retains the other formatting of the original texts (bold, italic, etc). How can this be fixed?

It depends on the target application and what format the styled text is in original and what the target application accepts. See:
