Thank you all for your help with this. I just re-read through this thread and was reminded of things. I forgot about WordService and CalcService, and just installed those from the Mac App Store very handy!

@peternlewis your explanation of the way Keyboard Maestro in this thread has been such a big help to me over the years and been in my mind anytime I get stuck in something I did easily in QuicKeys. I am thankful for the lego blocks you have provided for us and have a learned a lot since this time about Keyboard Maestro.
