I would like to either copy the title (name) of the selected macro in macro list to a variable, or even simpler, if there is already a variable or token for that.
Please note that I am not referring to the actual macro running %ExecutingInstanceName%%.
thanks very much
This will do it:
Download Macro(s): Get Name of Selected Macro .kmmacros (3.7 KB)
Macro-Image
Macro-Notes
- Macros are always disabled when imported into the Keyboard Maestro Editor.
- The user must ensure the macro is enabled.
- The user must also ensure the macro's parent macro-group is enabled.
System Information
- macOS 13.6.1
- Keyboard Maestro v11.0.3
The AppleScript action is the one you want!!
thanks very much @tiffle !
While that would be my preferred method too, since it makes sure you're getting the name of a macro, interestingly enough this will also work -- even getting name(s) for multiple macros, multiple Groups, one or more actions in a macro, or a single action in the Actions pane!
Just make sure the KM editor is frontmost when you use that approach!
Very interesting
I used to do snapshots → OCR to copy lists of macros and macro groups. I started using it tonight. Extremely useful !!
Yeah -- it was more a shout out for the awesome contextual handling of Clipboard contents.
