This macros which previously was working has stopped doing so. Any assistance remedying this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Dave,
Please post the actual macro.
How to Post Your Macro to the Forum
- What version of macOS are you using?
- What version of Keyboard Maestro are you using?
-Chris
Enclosed is the macro and screen shot.
Delete Safari History.kmmacros (2.3 KB)
Thanks. That's a start.
Now please answer the questions.
I'm on macOS Monterey (12.0.1)
I'm using Keyboard Maestro 10.0
Prior to the Keyboard Maestro upgrade I was using macOS Big Sur. The Delete Safari History macros was not working then either.
I'm curious why you're using AppleScript to do something that ought to be doable with the "native" Keyboard Maestro actions. Are the KM actions not working, or are you just more comfortable working in AppleScript?
I tried this macro and it worked fine.
Because I didn't want to clear my history while testing, it clicks the Cancel button instead of the Clear History button, but it should work after you change that step.
By the way, I'm still on Big Sur and KM 9, but I don't think that makes a difference with this macro.
Someone on the Forum had sent me this AppleScript that worked for a while. If possible could the macro to Clear Safari history be made available to me please? Thanks in advance.
Like @drdrang mentioned, this is easily doable with Keyboard Maestro actions, some of which are simply a veneer over AppleScripts anyway. I do understand however wanting to at least know the script itself to see how it works.
Either way, below is a macro to clear Safari history, essentially the same as drdrang screnshotted, but with a different kind of pause.
Clear Safari History.kmmacros (2.6 KB)
Your assistance is much appreciated.
