I organise my Kontakt nki/nkm files as aliases in a dedicated folder, so you don't have to wade through extraneous folders and files, and they can be recategorised however you like without unlinking the original registered locations.
Here's a macro that drags the selected file (or alias file) to the Kontakt UI window:
