Down Arrow Macro Doesn't Always Work - Java Program?

I have a macro with a ⌃n trigger and macro to simulate a down arrow. This is a great time-saver – most of the time.

I have an app, MoneyDance, where this macro doesn't work properly.

There are places in the app where a down-arrow will drop down a list of choices. In all of those situations, my ⌃n macro does nothing.

I'm pretty sure that MoneyDance is a Java program, if that knowledge helps.

Any ideas for a work-around?

Keyboard Maestro's keystroke actions simulate a keystroke, which is not the same as actually pressing the key.

Some apps don't respond well to that.

And – Java apps can be weird on macOS...
