Editor Log Errors - Still - Hundreds of them

I'm getting 37 of these at a time, or more, at the same exact second (in the editor log)
Did some initial testing of the macro, it's happening when I set a named clipboard to stylized text. I deleted that action and inserted a 'fresh' one, still causes the following error, multiple times.
I then created a macro with the single action of setting a named clipboard, still triggers the errors.
Created a new named clipboard, used that in the action and still errors.

Keyboard Maestro 8.0.4 “zz Testing” Macro

zz Testing.kmmacros (8.3 KB)

Editor.log.zip (9.9 KB)

2017-12-13 13:59:17 Assertion Failed: i_displayWhat != NamedClipboardPopupMenuControllerDisplay::kUnknown, file: /Users/peter/Keyboard Maestro/Project/Source/Views/NamedClipboardPopupMenuController.mm:40, value: 0

Just tried your macro (several times). On my machine it doesn’t create a single entry in Editor.log. Also KM 8.0.4 (OS 10.13.2).

Weird.

arg… thanx Tom for taking a look,
Do you know if there would be any benefit to me, backing up the plist, and whatever else needs to be backed up, and re-installing KM?
and yes, to confirm, 8.0.4 and 10.13.2

Addition:
Just restarted and got this:
2017-12-13 15:06:34 Editor Quitting

Here is what I get when I restart the editor:

2017-12-13 22:20:22 Editor Quitting
2017-12-13 22:20:30 Editor Starting 8.0.4

2017-12-13 22:20:30 Failed to find any 1Password bookmarks-default.json file
2017-12-13 22:20:31 Engine is already running

Nothing more.

(Just wondering why it is looking for a 1Password json file. I don’t have that app on the computer…)

yes, wondering the same, although I do have 1password installed.
Taking a shot, I’m going to zip my macros.plist
Go to my ‘aux’ user on this cpu that does not have KM installed
Install a fresh version of KM8
Replace the main .plist with my copy
See if the problem persists.

I did a few cursory searches in the database for move macros to new computer and got nothing…?? I used a couple different variations of that and found nothing, to my surprise.
I’m sure I"m using the wrong syntax… someone =) will let me know…

Crazy - went to new user account on mac, fresh install of KM8, triggered macro, no error.
Watch out now...
Came back to main user after a 'quit engine' and app. and opened KM back up
Ran macro, no error.
arg......
UPDATE: Did a couple things, ran the macro in question and got these, errors again. 111 of them!!!! This can't be good for performance.
yeah yeah, now look for what I did in-between... =) this is very frustrating.

Editor.log.zip (12.0 KB)

This is used by the Open 1Password Bookmark action. Even if you don't use 1Password, the action is probably created by the action selector in the editor, and hence looks for the 1Password export file (which is a file that 1Password creates which documents the 1Password bookmarks without revealing the sensitive information).

And this is why I have not found and killed the bug yet. Without a way to reproduce it, it is very hard to figure out.

I am using KM v9.0.1 and I am having the same problem!

When I am trying to type in Macro name box or when I click the Start Editing Macro or Stop Editing Macro in menu item, I see the following symptom

  1. The KM9 GUI become very sluggish, sometimes the GUI may freeze! (I mean the text input in Macro name box becomes extremely slow!!)
  2. when opening my Editor Log inside the Log folder, I see the following log item

and there are hundreds of them or even more.

But I am not using Open 1Password Bookmark Action in any Macro. So this is really confusing. And it slows down my KM9 constantly. Besides, the same thing happened to my KM8.

I wondered if there is a new solution to this 2017 issue for KM9?

If there is any log or system profile I could submit to provide the debugging it needs, please let me know. I would love to submit to help hunt down the issue.

Give those logs are all separated by multiple seconds or minutes, they will not be any part of the issue.

If Keyboard Maestro is sluggish or freezes, then an Activity Monitor sample of Keyboard Maestro will indicate what Keyboard Maestro is doing at the time which is the best way to find where the issue is.

I realize that the Failed to find any 1Password metadata folder or bookmarks-default.json file error is related to the "Open 1Password Bookmarks..." action. Is it possible to remove that action in order to get rid of this error? Or is it not worth doing so since this doesn't seem to impact performance at all?

It probably wont help removing any actions, because the action is still available in the action selector.

It is not worth worrying about, it is not causing any issues whatsoever.
