The leading caret ^ is preventing a multi-line search. You can change your expression to either: (•|▪|●|♦|-|–|−|¬|￢) OR (?m)^(•|▪|●|♦|-|–|−|¬|￢) The former will also remove bullets that aren't at the beginning of a line. See the wiki for more details on the latter.
