How do you get a copy (duplicate) of a macro so that you can start with the same actions & then edit them in the second copy.
Select the macro. Edit ➤ Duplicate.

If the macro is being duplicated to a different macro group, hold the Option key while dragging the macro to the other macro group (just like copying a file in the Finder).

Select your macro and hold Cmd D
⌘D is a standard Mac shortcut for duplicating. It also works in the Finder and probably in many other apps too.
If you are not familiar with the shortcuts of your Mac, or of your apps, have a look at KeyCue.
