Is it possible to create a shortcut to archive the currently active message in the Signal application? I am trying to simulate a click on the "..." (three dots) or "..." (ellipsis) on the right side of the window, but it does not work: it is not identified (detected, located).
I did an image search to see where the three dots in the Signal window are (because I don't have that app), and they appear to be a fixed distance (down and left) from the upper right corner of the window. In that case, you can use the following action (with the appropriate numerical values substituted for your display) to click on the ellipses:
After you do that, the next step is probably to use the arrow keys to move the menu item to the correct one. (You may need a Pause action before you press the arrow keys.)
@Airy's methods should work fine (I do use Signal, so I can attest to the dots' non-moving location), but just pressing Shift-Command-A seems much simpler—that's the keyboard shortcut for Archive Chat.
The keyboard shortcuts aren't shown in Signal's menus at all, because, well, there are no menu commands for the contextual menu items! However, you can see a list of the (numerous) shortcuts by selecting Help > Show Keyboard Shortcuts.
If you still want a macro, now your macro just has to send Shift-Command-A.
