So I created a macro for keyboard Maestro, and for some reason, my keys one through four won’t work anymore. I had them as my hot keys when I first started using the macro, but I then switched two through four to 8 - 0. Now they only work on one application. I pulled up the keyboard character viewer and it shows that the keys are being pressed, but nothing is happening. Please, I need help, This is VERY frustrating!
First, turn off the Keyboard Maestro engine. Click the icon in the top bar and select “Quit Keyboard Maestro Engine”.
If things are still messed up, it’s not Keyboard Maestro that’s the issue.
If that solves the problem then do the following:
-
In “Groups” (on the left), select the group “All Macros”.
-
In “Macros” (in the middle), at the top there’s two “down arrows”. Select the one on the right. It will sort the macros by their triggers.
Assuming your macros are only have one trigger, you should be able to find the culprits this way. Delete or disable them.
Then you can turn the KM engine back on (File->Start Engine).
Let us know if this helps.
Well I didn’t see this post until after I rebooted my comp… But for some reason after clearing out all of the keys in the Library folder that related to KM, my numbers are working again. But if the situation ever comes up again, I’ll follow your advice and see if that helps. Thank you though!
Very happy it’s working now. I could feel the panic from here (been there).
