Kill MacUpdate Desktop process when you close it

Kill MacUpdate Desktop process when you close it, because when you press "quit it" either from menu or dock, the process stays one forever and eats about 100m of RAM.

Quit MacUpdate.kmmacros (4.0 KB)

Hey Jay,

Good macro.

MacUpdate Desktop does what it's designed to do – run as a daemon – or menu-bar-app and keep track of out-of-date apps.

If you don't have 'Show Menu Bar item' checked in the prefs you might not ever realize it was running and eating a chunk of your RAM, so It's a good idea to turn the menu-bar-item on and have a visual cue.

I've complained to the developers that this is high-handed, and suggested the app should have an opt-out preference for run-always – but so far they don't agree.

Personally I NEVER want the app to run continuously on my system – only on demand.

I just hijack Q and keep the macro out of the global macro space, but then again I don't (usually) quit apps via the Dock or App-Switcher.
