Logic Pro - Macro Megathread (2022)

I actually came up with what I think is a better solution. See what you think:

  1. Bounce the entire project.
  2. Drag the resultant file back into your project and select it.
  3. Set the playhead to the start of your set of markers and trigger this macro repeatedly until the file has been chopped up to your liking:

Chop at Next Marker.kmmacros (42 KB)

  1. Select the chopped up regions, ⌃click and select Export as Audio Files.

In my experience this works out a lot quicker than bouncing each marker in turn, despite requiring more manual steps.

Welcome to the forum, @xyzayah.

Is that help with creating or help by creating? Have you made a start on a macro that you could show us? If not, have you created any KM macros as yet? I ask because it might help those answering to know what stage you are at with Keyboard Maestro.

Hello beautiful people of Keyboard Mastro’s community!

I own Keyboard Maestro v8, which I used to use with Protools, 7+ years ago, in another life. Now I re-installed it because I now work with Logic and I would like a simple find and replace track rename utility.

Since it’s been so long and I don’t intend to create that many macros I’d like to ask for help.

How could I build a macro that asks what to search for and what to replace it with, either within the selected tracks, or ask on how many tracks the action should be performed.

So for example let’s say I have a 24 track project, because of how the audio were exported before I imported them in my Logic project they are all appended with -01 and I want to remove, the KM prompt would ask me to search for “-01” and replace with ““ across 24 tracks.

EDIT: Actually I figured it out and so I will share it with others, it could probably be more complete and include an option to append or prepend but my skills aren’t there yet

Find and replace track names.kmmacros (7.1 KB)

As much as I love to automate Logic with KM, I highly recommend buying PlugTools. Among other things, it includes a track rename feature.

Yeah it looks very useful but for now I’d rather use what I already own. Thanks
