Moving Window to Another Desktop Works by Number, but Not by Arrow?

Hello all.

I'd like to be able to easily move windows between Mission Control desktops. As others have faced this before, I dug into the forums and found solutions. Currently, I have these shortcuts set up in macOS:

And, for each numbered desktop, I've configured this KM shortcut:

This works beautifully with the numbered desktops, so I wanted to also as "move to desktop left" and "right". However, for some reason this doesn't work:

It's exactly identical except it uses the "Move left a space" (or "right") mission control shortcuts instead of "Switch to Desktop 1".

The weird thing is, I can mimic the mouse and keystrokes by hand and it works just fine...it's just something about my KM recipe.

Can anyone suggest what I'm missing?

Something changed in a relatively recent version of macOS that prevents KM's simulated keystrokes from being able to trigger the default Mission Control shortcuts for moving between spaces: Fortunately, the workaround Peter describes in that post still works as of Big Sur 11.6. Switching away from arrows in the Mission Control sys pref shortcuts seems to fix the issue.
