The Keyboard Maestro GUI allows for selection of more than one macro group.
Where the selections are multiple, this returns group names on separate lines:
Names of any selected Macro Groups (one per line).kmmacros (3.2 KB)
PS no token route here, I think.

As Rob (@ComplexPoint) points out you can only define your own Variable via scripting (JXA or AppleScript) by using the selectedMacroGroup Property. You can use this for the name and also for the UUID.
However - if a Macro Group‘s Name or UUID is needed from within a running Macro you can use the MacroGoup related Tokens without any scripting at all.

great ! works perfectly. I use it to add the name date time stamp to the backup file when I backup a macro group as a folder (usually the one I am actively working in). Very useful !
