Version 11.0.3
Never used this before, so trying to work out how to use it.
Reading through the manual, the clipboard stuff looked good, and, I assumed, relatively simple.
However...
First problem, the manual says to use Command-Shift-X, C and V. The problem is that command-shift-C with Chrome fires up the debug window of the browser. Outside the browser, it seems that the action is to start a color picker.
The manual says you can change these defaults, but is silent on how. I can't eben see the macro definitions, let alone edit them. The manual shows:
What I actually see is:
I can see Actions listed, but not do anything with them...
Is there any basic, more detailed documentation anywhere?
You're currently in viewing mode. Try going to View → Start Editing Macros in the menu bar.
I expect everything will become much more apparent then, but of course you can always ask if you still have more questions.

I had tried that. It doesn't really help. This is what I get, still looks nothing like what is shown in the manual, and nowhere to edit anything.
Did you try selecting the macro within the group that you want to edit?
There isn't one ... According to the manual, there is a default set of macros for clipboards. They show them (see above). I see no such thing. The application and manual don't appear to match...
Ah, I misunderstood what you needed help with. I thought you were having a problem with conflicting hot keys. After rereading your initial post, I find I'm uncertain what your question is. Are you looking to recreate these 'default' clipboard macros in order to use them?
I'm not sure how many of those are actual 'defaults' included with the program. I don't do much with clipboards myself and have only the provided Paste Selection into Last Application
in my Clipboards group. Some of the macros shown in the screenshot from the manual are included with Keyboard Maestro, but you'll find them in the Clipboard Filters group (e.g. Uppercase, Lowercase).
Sounds like it is probably more of a manual problem.
I see what you do, just the *Paste Selection into Last Application*
in my Clipboards group.
What I was looking for were the clipboard macros as described in the manual (it sort of, but not explicitly implies that they are defaults) to change a conflicting keyboard sequence - seemed odd to me that the sequence would conflict with standard MacOS usage...
Thanks for confirming that what I see is "normal"
Strongly suggest that you try some of the other shipped KM macros. Whilst you are not in the deep end, you are not in the shallow end with what you trying to start with.
Try a simple text expansion e.g. qq07 that
expands to your mobile number
and a hotkey switch to start an application,
then go back to your clipboard problem.

Yes ... I think you are right. I thought that those macros were there, I just wanted to change the trigger sequence. I did try the example to open up Finder on my home directory. Some ot the other simple things (as you suggest) seem to be the way to get more familiar.
Thanks.
As @jonathonl suggests - start simple.
The Quick Start and Tutorial will definitely help fix a bunch of misconceptions and then you can ask more clear questions to move on from there.
