Quit other application

Hi all !

New to KM. Here is my first question. Using the action.: Quit other application, how do you tell KM what is the application to exclude? I can't find any way of selecting an app.

Thanks !

Pace

Welcome to the forums!

I'm a bit confused by your question, as Keyboard Maestro has a Quit A Specific Application action, and a Quit Other Applications action, but there is no Quit Other Application [singular] action.

Are you trying to quit one app? Then you need Quit A Specific Application. If that's not what you're trying to do, can you explain in a bit more detail?

Oh wait, got it now—sorry! You want to know how to exclude some applications from the Quit Other Applications action. That's in Keyboard Maestro' settings:

-rob.

The idea is to quit all application, except one to be specified. I thought I would find an action that would say something like: except this application. , instead, you can use: quit other applications. Perfectly OK, assuming that you can specify that application, but I can't find any way to do that. When you enter that action, you're stuck there.

Obviously, there's a way. But it certainly well hided

Thanks for the reply

Never thought it would be in settings/ preferences.
Thank you much !

The Exclusion list in Settings might be a little wide-ranging for your needs here.

But for the "Quit" action, the "Other Applications" are all except the currently frontmost application -- so you just "Activate" the app you want to keep, then "Quit Other Applications".
