Replace all text in plain text file

I would like to duplicate a feature, available in the Drafts app for iOS, which allows one to replace the entire contents of a plain text file (in my case, a file located in my Dropbox folder). So, let’s say I copy some text from a web page. I want to stick that text in a particular file in Dropbox. I don’t want to append or prepend the text; I want to replace all of the text in the file with the text on my clipboard. I don’t want to have to open the text file, select all the text and paste the clipboard text over it.
