I created this shortcut to help me paste into places where some clever developer has tried to prevent pasting, such as in password-confirmation fields. It has been working very well for years. Suddenly, it is “swallowing” the first “v” in the clipboard text. For example, if I try to paste “give a little bit of your love to me” with this shortcut, the first “v” is not typed, but the second one is.
Has anyone run into anything like this? Can anyone repro it?
Try starting your macro with a "Pause Until: ⌥⇧⌘ is not pressed":
...or change the trigger to "is released".
Thinking logically, whatever they're doing to capture ⌘V so you can't Paste is still in play when you type the first V but not the second -- and the hot key modifiers are the first possibility to eliminate.
Okay, this appears to have been a weird, temporary thing due to a conflict on my system. The updater for my scanner’s software was messing with this for some reason, and when I installed the latest update to that software the problem resolved.
I got a solution, which was a conflict with a pending update to my scanner’s software (see my reply a moment ago). Thanks, though!
