SpeedTest Macro with a log file

Hey everyone. Nice to join this incredible community!

I'd like to share with you a macro that I've made to make my brandwith speed tests much more easier with a great option to save results to a log file. It's fully described on my blog on my blog. It's in polish language so i think translator would be very usefull :slight_smile:

No more talking, here it is. Enjoy and let me know what do you think about it.

You can download the python script from: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oeilrd9byx4jsva/speedtest_cli.zip

This looks pretty cool but I am unable to get just the first execute to work. I typed in the following to execute and display result:

#!/bin/bash

python /Users/[myaccount]/Logs/SpeedTest/speedtest_cli.py --simple --share | sed ‘s/Download/DL/’ | sed ‘s/Upload/UL/’ | sed ‘s/Share results:/link:/’

Either I have a typo or I need to create some other file, other than speedtest.txt which I created in the SpeedTest folder.

Any thoughts what I don’t have setup correctly?

Did you download a script and put it in a chosen directory?

I looked and did not see a file to download. I just looked again and either I am missing where to download or it is not there. So the answer is no, no downloaded script and not put it in a chosen directory.

Ok, it’s in the blog post. Here is a direct link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oeilrd9byx4jsva/speedtest_cli.zip

That made all the difference in the world. Thanks!

That is a very useful macro. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for that @smartkidpl! I edited your original post to add the script download link (I would have just suggested you do it, but I’m not sure if the permission systems allow that or not).

Thanks again, great macro!

Thanks! I hope it will save some time to many of KM users.
