In theory, it might be “nice to have” an action warning[2] appear in the Editor whenever a search quantifier is followed by a space, but I wouldn’t expect that to be at all easy to implement and it’s not as if it seems to be a common issue.[3]
I’ve added a note to that topic in order to correct my instruction to include a space![4]
