USB Device Key triggers ignored?

Hi all,
I was keen to setup some key + click triggers for a few things, which I managed to do but Im finding the trigger conditions don't seem to matter which is obviously a problem. ie I set a shift key + click, shift key + click (pressed 4 times) and anything else you can choose from but simply clicking the specified mouse button triggers the macro regardless.

I assume it's something simple I've missed. Im quite sure there are no other apps interfering and I've also tried entering more than one trigger instance but still no good.

What you are describing works for me. Here's a screenshot of my macro which works. Either write your macro like this, or upload your macro so we can see it.
