In the user input prompt I am trying to use another macro to fill in a web address. If I use a function key it works but if I try to use this string is typed it won't work.
I have other macro with this string is typed will work in the same prompt field. They are shorter is that the difference?

As far as I know, you can't use a Type to String macro when called from a KM input prompt macro.
I also had this question not so long ago. Forgot the reason but some more experienced forum users told me it was not possible.
You'll need an external app like aText of Textpander.
For some reason I can get some to work and the one I want not to work.
Any how I decided to use the menu to select what I want rather than a typed string
