Where Is MacUUID Token From?

Is MacUUID Token unique to Keyboard Maestro? I thought it might be same as hardware UUID from system report or Ethernet MAC address, but they don’t match.

Thanks!

It is unique to Keyboard Maestro. It is stored in a Keyboard Maestro preference file in the Preferences folder (not in the Keyboard Maestro preferences folder).

If you use Apple’s Migration tool to migrate to a new Mac, they may both end up with the same MacUUID.

Thanks @peternlewis!

I used Migration Assistant. So now I have two Macs with the same UUID. How do I generate a new Unique one?

Use the Terminal commands:

defaults delete com.stairways.keyboardmaestro.engine MacUUID
defaults delete com.stairways.keyboardmaestro.engine MacRemoteUUID

thanks.

I don't think the second token exists.

It wont unless you use the Remote Trigger action, that's fine.
