I'm trying to automate my bands changeover so to load a different ableton project, show the video window and move it to a video wall (shows up as an external monitor), and maximize it. So far no luck. Granted I just started using this software, but Ableton when it's not in focus it will hide the video window, focus on Abelton and the windows shows back up. Any help would be appreciated.
I understand that this is a common complaint about Live that Ableton does not seem to want to address (for example see Keeping the video window active when Live is not in front - Ableton Forum).
I don't think there will be a way around this using KM because this is inflexible behaviour that is baked into Ableton Live's user interface.
I did figure a way to do this, all with moving the mouse to a specific location drag the window over move the mouse down a bit and double click. It seems to be working, i'm just hoping the video window always pops up in the same spot. I had it all working and had to reboot for something and for some reason it didn't save any of it, so i have to re-create it all uggh. I'm still on the trial but that is a pain in the ass if it doesn't save correctly. Thanks for the reply.
Ah, well done. I didn't suggest experimenting with such workarounds due to how I pictured the problem (I never took to Live, so do not have it installed). Somehow you are able to grab hold of that window at some point of the hidden/not hidden dance! Good.
If it doesn't, you might want to try the Click at found image
action (see action:Move or Click Mouse [Keyboard Maestro Wiki]).
KM didn't save the macro, you mean? That's strange, if so.
Yeah it didn't save the first time i got it worked out. I'm still having issues triggering Maestro with a Streamdeck button. Tried the hotkey combo, and just will not work. Any tips on that?
I don't use a Stream Deck but someone should be able to help if your SD is not talking to KM. You will get more replies if you start a new topic about this, since it appears to be a separate issue.
