Activate Macro Group, not working

Hi I am trying to press the Fn key (or any other) and then activate the Macro Group.

on testing the Macro group remains greyed out. It worked once but I can't why they was either?

Yes, there is a difference between Enabled/Disabled and Activate/Deactivated.

I suggest you enable the macro group, then set it to “Activated/Deactivated when” (and you can leave all the checkboxes off if you like). And then your macro is back to what you showed above, Activate the macro group.

Can perhaps a few examples be listed on the Wiki about this. I am not following the use case but it seems like it can be very helpful and I like the window that pops up that is not part of the system preferences Notifications.

Do the Forum examples linked from the Macro Activation page (which is linked to from the page you mention) not help? Or, indeed, the definitions on that page?

That's embarrassing I didn't even see those but I reread the description several times. Thank you, I will hopefully not make that mistake again.

A good-to-have problem with the Wiki is that there is so much information on it. Another problem is that many KM concepts/items are interrelated that there is no one place to put something -- yet if you put it everywhere relevant the Wiki would be even bigger. So links, links, links...

And that means more chance of missing something. So you will make that mistake again -- and so will I :wink:
