Activating keystroke from applescript not working

Hi all,

For some reason this script by @ccstone that I use every day stopped working. It does highlight the area :

But does not actually select and create a hotkey trigger. It worked perfectly before however. Not sure why it stopped. :frowning:

I can get around this with this :

But still it's quite strange it doesn't work when it worked perfectly before.
