I'm trying to write a macro that'll copy a cell in an airtable database and put it in a variable, then move to another cell and copy that and put it into another variable. However, no matter what I do, the second copy operation fails, and the 2nd variable gets whatever was already in the system clipboard. Any ideas? Am I doing something I shouldn't be w/r/t system clipboard timing? I'm trying to do the copy via the "Cmd-C" keypress. The first works ... but nothing after that.
Sounds like clipboard caching to me. The wiki question Sometimes the wrong thing is pasted talks a bit about clipboard caching and it sounds like a similar issue.
You may need to do something like clicking in the menu bar or switching out of the application and back or something like that to force it to write to the system clipboard.
