Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some help building a reliable macro for Logic Pro to alphabetize a specific selection of tracks. I’m not sure if this one is even possible, but thought I’d try to give it a go.
I work in a massive orchestral template with many tracks and ‘sections’, and to start small here, am trying to find a way to sort a selected amount of newly created tracks per section. Here’s a screenshot example of what it may look like, un-sorted:
The ideal is a macro that puts everything below “[Violins I]” alphabetical up to “[Violins II]”, and then the same for that group, etc (e.g., just the articulations under "[Violins I]") without disturbing the rest of the mixer or the bracket tracks above them).
The Problem:
-
Logic’s native
Sort Tracks by Namecommand applies to the entire list (or current folder), which scrambles my template structure. -
If I pack tracks into a Folder, sort them, and then use the Unpack command, Logic reverts the tracks to their original chronological order, undoing the sort.
Any thoughts?
