App switcher only offering apps which are not hidden?

The Keyboard Maestro App Switcher is great, but I would like to use it only for apps which are not hidden.

My use case: I often finsh a task in an app and then decide I don't need this app for my coming task. So I hide the app. Now in the "next" app I might run the app switcher releasing without particular selection -- which brings me to the app I just have hidden... Of all "default" behaviours this is the one I want the least!

Therefore, how can I use an app switcher which only chooses from the not-hidden apps?

Many thanks for any pointers!

Your request is interesting.

The App Switcher action, by design, currently shows hidden apps for the specific reason that it lets you hide or unhide apps using the H key. If the apps that were hidden weren't displayed, then the unhide feature wouldn't work. It shows hidden apps as 50% shaded out. By pressing "H" when the mouse is over the icon, you can unhide the app (which takes effect when the App Switcher action ends.)

Therefore I imagine what you need is a new action called "App Switcher for Non-Hidden apps." Or perhaps the existing App Switcher action could have a sticky checkbox added to its panel to prevent hidden apps from showing up, like this:

Both ideas seem viable to me. Personally, I wouldn't use them because I never (knowingly) hide apps. But if people here can convince The Architect to add such a feature, he might.

It might already be possible to create something similar using AppleScript, which can distinguish between hidden and visible apps, but I'm not verse enough with it to solve it that way for you.
