Append text... can't get it to work

I'm having trouble getting append text to work.

•Sonoma
•KM 9.x,

I just want to add a note and a time stamp to a text. file whenever I use a hotkey or other shortcut. It's working inconsistently, mostly not at all.

Can anyone post a very simple example of how that works? I've been searching forum and fiddling about, and I just can't get it to work.

I'm not sure if you're asking for a macro that runs whenever another macro is invoked via a hot key or other shortcut, or just a macro that runs on its own via a hot key or other shortcut. Assuming you mean the latter, this seems to work well here:

Macro notes
  • Macros are always disabled when imported into the Keyboard Maestro Editor.
    • The user must ensure the macro is enabled.
    • The user must also ensure the macro's parent macro-group is enabled.

  • macOS 14.4.1
  • Keyboard Maestro v11.0.2

You need to edit the path in the green action box at the end, but then it should "just work."
