I have an AppleScript to toggle the Inspector and Comments and Changes panes in Pages. The script works when run from Script Editor and when I use Try Action in the KM macro. I am activating Pages before running the script.
It does not run with assigned hotkey.
I've looked through similar questions here but cannot find a solution.
Have you tried KM's "Interactive Help", available from the Editor's "Help" menu? It really is very helpful when triggers don't fire macros as expected, checking that the Group is active, the macro enabled, and so on.
Try a different hot key -- something you know works, like ⌘C -- in case whatever you've chosen is being caught by something else.
You can also check the Engine log ("Help" menu again, "Open Logs Folder", double-click "Engine.log" to open it in Console) for any helpful errors.
If none of those help then post your macro in case someone can spot something -- but it sounds like your logic is correct, it's just the hot-key triggering that is the problem.
That was it. I had thought that if no Application were specified, it was available in all Applications. I specified Pages and Lo!, the hot key worked as expected. Thank you.
Thanks also for the info about online help. I'll try to remember to use that more in future.
