Block keyboard input for 1 second for text replacement?

A question, after much searching and reading discussions about blocking keyboard input.

Can Keyboard Maestro block keyboard input?

I just want to type my string, which is the first part of my name in my email address, and have KM replace the string with my correct email address, but not collect the rest of my keyboard presses. "Simulate 4 deletes", when checked, occurs before my keystroke actions start.

Thanks

I'm a bit confused, either by what you're asking, or by how your Mac is behaving. What I think you're asking is to be able to type a string, then have that string replaced by your email address, correct?

If so, this macro works fine for me here:

Does that not work on your Mac, or is that not what you're trying to do?

-rob.

That's probably the result that he wants, but he seems to be saying that he wants KM to not type the portion of the "input trigger string" if there is a corresponding trigger string.
