I was wondering if there was a way to trigger based on the camera being on so to turn on some lights or something like this?

Coincidentally, I’ve been playing around with getting control of my Blink cameras using Homebridge with the home app on MacOS/iPadOS. Interestingly there are also plugins that let you run AppleScript so in principle, when one of my cameras detects motion I could get the event to run a KM macro. I don’t know for a fact that this can actually be done, but some further digging around should confirm it is possible.
The first thing to do is to find out whether there’s a Homebridge plugin that supports your webcam. Luckily, there is a plugin for Blink so I am able to explore ways of improving my own security system.
