Yes, it works fine, but it's a series of tokens, not a variable, so you won't find anything pertaining to the current Music.app track in preferences unless you explicitly set a variable to one of them:
Any text you want to use in a URL has to be percent encoded first, so you just need a Filter action action like this in between Set Variable and Open URL:
