Hi, is there a way to set up an auto-reply when I receive a new message on Facebook Messenger? I’m using a personal account, not a business account, so I’m looking for a workaround.

Do you want this to work in the background or are you willing to leave your Mac running all the time with the FaceBook page on the screen all the time? And which browser do you want to use?
Facebook has a feature called Instant Replies which looks like it does exactly what you are asking for. Have you tried looking into that? It's only available for a business account, but I think those are free so please consider that.
There are at least 5 tools that do this sort of thing that you can use on either Mac or Windows: Manychat, Chatfuel, MobileMonkey, Tidio, and Botsify. Have you looked into any of them? Most of them are free for basic use. And they work with personal Facebook accounts, which you said you have.
What kind of message do you want to send back to the sender? A fixed text message, or something more complicated?
Even if you don't like my suggestions, Keyboard Maestro may be able to get you a solution. Since I don't have a Facebook account, I can't create any macros for you, but if you show screenshots of each FaceBook screen involved in sending and receiving messages, I may be able to draft something for you.
