Find & Italicize text between parentheses in Google Doc?

Hi smart people—

I have a long text document (currently in Google Docs), a script that includes stage directions within parentheses. I'd like to italicize all of those stage directions—so

Character says this (while doing this)

becomes

Character says this (while doing this)

throughout the document.

It feels like something that should be pretty scriptable, but I can't get my brain to figure out the best (or even the worst) way to make it happen.

Any suggestions from the wise ones?

Thanks in advance!

It is scriptable inside Google Docs, without using KM at all. However the script is about ten lines and I don't understand it. If you have access to any AI, you should be able to ask it how and it will tell you exactly how.

It may also be possible with KM, but then any such solution will be browser-specific, and you haven't told us which browser you are using.

AI to the rescue. Thanks for the suggestion, @Airy!
