Finding Image stopped working

Hi, first of all, thanks for making KM – I'm using it all day every day.

Sadly, finding an image totally stopped working for me. It just doesn't find anything – I tried both big and small images, multiple screens, one screen, very contrasty symbols, ...

I remember that it worked well in the past, but cannot pinpoint any specific time/event when it stopped.

I tried the following:

  • Completely uninstalling KM, restarting Mac, installing it again
  • Both Find Image on Screen & Move and Click … of the Found Image
  • Enabling & Disabling Screen access in Privacy settings of Catalina
    • I found in this forum, that a good way to verify that KM has access to screen is to run "Screen Capture Main Screen" action – that works well, as recorded in the attached video
  • Disabling all other apps that have access to Screen recording, restarting KM after each one
  • Praying, cursing, begging

I'm a software developer, and quite confident around MacOS ecosystem, so will appreciate any tips not just how to solve this, but also how to debug this issue.

omg, I've found the issue :frowning:

I was taking screenshots with the app called Monosnap,
which was set to resize the images on Retina to "non-retina" resolution,
so my image was not found as it was scaled to 50% compared to what was actually on the screen.

Everything works now and everything is great again :slight_smile:
