Does the Keyboard Maestro editor find double struck L (π) or I (π)?
(When I put a double struck L or I in the find field, no macros are returned, despite having actions in macros with double struck L or I in them.)
The point of this is that I intend to use π/π as a stand-in for "Local" and "Instance" at the beginning of variables, which seems to work as expected. (π_variablename, for example, doesn't show in the variables list.) However, if a search can't find these variables in the macros, I should probably just use regular old "Local" and "Instance."
The double struck letters are off in the hinterland of multiplane unicode and do not work reliably for a bunch of things. I originally tried using them for Local variables, but they cause so much problems I abandoned them.
Search for them should find them, but I agree it does not, which is a bug which I will look at.
It seems the functionality of double strucks is still in KM. That is, Double struck L seems to function as a stand in for "Local" in variables.
Can we expect that functionality of double strucks to be retained going forward? If not, then the search/find of double strucks in KM would, to my mind, be mostly moot. I wouldn't want to use some essential syntax for variables that can't be searched. (Especially since those special variables won't appear in the variables list in preferences.)
By the way, Peter @peternlewis, I'm on several similar forums. I don't think there's any forum I'm on where the developer is so involved and responsive. I'm sure that takes a significant chunk of your time. Thank you.
No. As far as I am aware, its not supported in any current version.
Thanks. Youβre welcome, but the thanks really goes to all the other folks who answer questions here that make it possible for me to answer the more technical ones related to using Keyboard Maestro.
