While I'm on this 'phase' I thought I would ask.
How Do Disabled Groups and Macros Affect Editor Performance?
I have gone from 3,300 macros, 120 groups and a KM sync file of 19.9M to
2,100 macros, 79 groups and KM sync files size of 7.7! YEAH!!!
So I'm curious how disabled groups and macros affect the 'load' on the editor.
Would it help to have say half of those groups disabled?
Would it help to have 1,000 macros disabled?
The first thing you should do is open the Activity Monitor App, select the KM Editor app, press the Info button, and see all its performance data there. There are three tabs of data, and there's a Sample Button that provides additional data.
Second, define "load": Memory load? Disk load? UI responsiveness? Energy load?
I doubt it affects the editor much, if any. The editor has to look at them as much as any other macro. It's possible they could affect the engine, especially depending on their triggers.
