How do I stop this nagging thing? "Keyboard Maestro Engine is accessing your screen"

image

^ This thing. It is popping up OVER and OVER again. I have already checked the settings. Yes, it's enabled, yes, I know it's accessing this. It's really annoying but what's really odd is that this is only happening on 1 of my macs; 3 others running KM, using synced KM macros don't do this at all.

Please, if anyone can tell me how to stop this I will be ever so grateful!

Sadly this is Apple doing this. No idea why it would keep popping up, sounds like a bug (hardly surprising given how buggy the rest of their security setting system is).

Other than asking Apple, or trying to reset random systems, or maybe reinstalling the Keyboard Maestro application (which sometimes can cause the security system to wake up), I'm not really sure what to suggest.

To reinstall the application:

  • Quit Keyboard Maestro and Keyboard Maestro Engine
  • Download a fresh copy
  • If the file is still a .zip file, unzip it.
  • Use the Finder to move the resulting Keyboard Maestro.app application to the Applications folder (replacing the old version)
  • Launch the Keyboard Maestro app from the Applications folder.

This will not affect your macros which are store in your local account.

Check your OS version carefully -- you'll probably find that the one getting these notifications is on a later version than the others.

These are deliberate "Privacy & Security" notifications and, AFAIK, cannot (yet) be managed in any way. There's no bug to fix and no setting to reset (this time!) so you'll just have to live with it and send feedback to Apple to let them know how annoyed you are...

I have the same version OS on all my Macs, so this was what was so weird about this.

I know that these are deliberate messages, and I do see them on my other Macs ... but MUCH more infrequently (monthly? more?). This was happening one after the other after the other.

Yeah, maybe I will do that on just that one Mac. Might give things the kick-start they need.
