How to bring an application to the front without launching it?

Is there a way to have a window be brought to the front without actually launching the application? Or use the window title to bring it to the front?

I have this applescript I use to unmount all backup drives - it runs after each login and often it gives an error message like the one seen here.

I'm using keyboard maestro to click that Okay button. The problem is if I select activate that application, then it runs the script and the macro cycles.

Hey Felix,

You can do something like this:

Generic-Test 01.kmmacros (1.9 KB)

Thank you very much! I’m afraid, I don’t know applescript that well.

The applescript is titled:

UnMount All Backup Drives

Should I insert that name instead of “System Events”?

I’m guessing Test is a placeholder?

No, you want “System Events”. That’s important.

You would replace “test”, but I’m, not sure what you’d change it to. You can try various things - you can’t really mess things up too bad with this particular script.

Chris will respond soon enough, but I knew part of the answer, so…
