Is it possible to search files by tag with the option of choosing the default search folder?

I looked in the forum and was surprised to find no mention of search by tag.
thanks in advance for your time and help

This sort of thing is definitely possible. You can specify a folder to search, and then for each file in that folder check whether it contains the tag you want. But from there it all depends what you want to achieve. Do you want to make a list of matches? Do you want to open the files? Here is a simple example that searches and reveals a file if it contains the tag "Red".

thanks very much. Works perfectly !

It is just an example to show how to access the tags. As it stands it wouldn't be a great deal of use as it can only reveal one file in the Finder (even if there are several files with the same tag in the folder). But I'm sure the basic idea can be adapted to whatever you want to do (display a list of the matching files or open them or whatever) :grinning:
