And those people will probably know of, and are probably using, "more robust solutions".
But, in my experience, most people don't know about ⌘Tab/⌘`, don't know you can drag and drop between windows and (usually) apps, and don't know that you can combine ⌘Tab/⌘` with drag'n'drop. So I think it bears a mention, even in the august company of this Forum.
If they start there then run into the limitations you describe and upgrade to AltTab or similar -- excellent!
Following that logic, why not recommend that people start by customizing the system’s 'Keyboard Shortcuts' or using the built-in 'Shortcuts' app, and let them run into the limitations themselves...

Sometimes the basics are all that's needed... And when they aren't we're lucky to have a multitude of independent devs working on utilities like AltTab and KM. We've never had it so good!
Indeed, we have plenty of options and can be welcoming of diverse viewpoints and opinions in a forum that supports a wide range of users and circumstances.
