I just upgraded to Karabiner Elements 15.2.0 and a KM macro that's triggered with F9 stopped working. I have some of my F-keys reassigned in KE but F9 is passing F9 through and shows up as F9 in the event viewer. But in KM, it isn't even registered as a keypress.
If I turn on "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" in Settings, F9 works, but I lose my KE keys. I guess I could set those up in KM but is there an easier fix?
What if you remap the key to, say C and change the macro's trigger to the same? You're trying to narrow down the problem -- is it all Karabiner-mapped keys, just the Function keys, just F9?
What if you go the other way and turn on "Standard Function Keys" then remap the other F-keys to their "specials"? Probably quicker to do than write a bunch more macros.
I ended up mapping F9 to keypad 9 in Karabiner, then assigning the macro to that, and that worked. So something has changed in the way that Karabiner handles F-keys that isn't compatible with KM.
Thanks for the heads up. Who knows how much troubleshooting you might've saved me.
Tried a workaround but felt a smidge laggy for my purpose (tap both commands to launch a macro palette). Might just find something useful to use the double command for directly in Karabiner.
